Carré d'Etoiles Mini Prefab Vacation Homes

7-10-2009carre-exterior-installed.jpgCan you believe that this tiny prefab vacation home includes a full kitchen, full bathroom with shower, and a flat screen TV? It does ... somehow. And the thing is still small enough to be moved in its entirety on a flatbed truck.

7-10-2009carre-skylight.jpgHaving a second home to vacation at isn't the greenest concept out there — so we probably wouldn't advocate buying one of these Carré d'Etoiles as your summer home. However, we wouldn't mind renting one near a lake for a week or so.

They're warmed using bio-ethanol heating and made from "recyclable wood" — a phrase that makes us scratch our heads.

Regardless, the design is inspiring. So tiny, but so comfortable looking and modern.

Oh, and did we mention that every one of these comes with a telescope and a star chart? Pretty charming.

It might be greener than RVing... cute, in any case. Maybe one could use it as a collapsible guest room. ;)

And yeah, I'd like to know more about recyclable wood.
