It seems as though more folks are remembering to bring their reusable totes to the grocery store--and we're seeing them quite often around town as people use them to tote their lunches, grab library books, or pack picnics. Personally, we're big fans of the grocery-ready totes' wide bottoms and long straps.
Is it just us, or are the ones with the cheeky green messages the most fun to see on someone's shoulder? Take a look some of the clever one-liners, and let us know what your fave is...
Yesterday we saw one that read, "Root for Trees," and another proclaimed, "Paper or Plastic? Neither!" But that's only the beginning...Here's a list of clever green-related lines and links to either images of them or, better yet, where you can buy 'em.

For me, nothing beats Envirosax. No message, great patterns (or none if that's what you prefer), and they roll up and snap into small (fist-sized), light bundles--no pouch to lose. Washable. Cheaper than Baggu (if you get them with the coupons from Bright & Bold) or Chico, and they hold more. No, I don't work for anyone connected with them.

i don't know if it qualifies as "cheeky" but one of my favorite totes has three little cartoon birds marching on a branch, declaring, "save our home!"

"I'm not a plastic bag."
"I used to be a plastic bottle."
I think these show a common misunderstanding about these bags - they are often made of (recycled) plastic. I'm glad that we've come to our sense about polluting our planets with cheap plastic bags everywhere you turn, but am bummed out that our solution was to replace them with thicker plastic bags that we treat as just as disposable.

that "s" on "planets" was intended for "sense" but managed to slip over somehow. lest you think I am defending multiple planets - I'll start with ours.

I LOVE my chico bags (they fold up to a size smaller than a pair of socks), and I have 4 reusable bags from the local grocery. But I'm not a huge fan of the bags with sayings, they remind me of tacky bumper stickers and kitschy t-shirt with funny sayings on them, they just aren't for me.

I love Envirosax too. I carry a rather large purse (more like a bag) and always have 2 or 3 Envirosax in my bag since they roll up to such a convenient size. So whether I think I'll need them or not, I always have them. Out shopping at a store, grocery or otherwise, farmers markets, art fairs, where ever. On the website it says it can hold up to 44 pounds. I totally believe it. I've carried so much in those. They just started making some out of organic cotton, hemp and bamboo which look really interesting and I really want to try.

I really like the colorful whole foods and trader joe's recycled bags they sell. Lovely patterns.

No slogans, and I don't care if you do or don't, but yay for reusable bags! Because (winking at amt) I'm all about saving our planets.

My favorites are pretty old. They are black canvas and part of Patagonia's clean water campaign with nice artwork.

Envirosax - agree 100%. Love them.

My favorite is a chico bag - no logo, just wonderful foldup portability.
I did see some cheeky sayings on bags from Perptual Kid (I don't work for them):
"I use this bag because my wife cares about the environment"
"I usually leave this bag in my car"
"My reusable bag makes me better than you"

I designed my own bag that says, "This bag saves this much crude oil every year" and is mostly black showing the volume (5.44 gallons).
