Easy Way to Recycle Your Batteries!

2972203659_658df55649.jpg

We encounter piles of household alkaline batteries all the time when we're working with clients of our organizing business. Last night, during an errand, we were delighted to discover where folks can now bring old batteries for recycling...

Whole Foods! (At least the Whole Foods in Brighton, MA.) The Stoughton Ikea also has a battery recycling bin but not everyone makes it to Stoughton. A while ago we blogged about Whole Foods providing plastic bag recycling. Last night, we also noticed that they've added a cell phone recycling bin.

Have you found any other local sources for recycling old batteries?

This is easy. Best buy.

But if you are in Pittsburgh in the SouthSide, Ehouse has recycling for regular batteries and cellphone batteries.

Yep. And you can also recycle them, and the new energy efficient, yet mercury-containing bulbs, at Ikea.

In the LA/Santa Monica neighborhood, the Wednesday/Saturday farmer's market on 3rd street promenade always has a few receptacles for battery recycling. And also the Santa Monica Main Branch library has battery recycling receptacle next to the elevator on the ground floor.
