Our friend Evan (pictured above after a wild night of Squirt drinking) is a happy man. Lucky enough to live in one of the pilot wards (46th and 47th) for the new blue cart program, he is no longer schlepping recyclables to the Resource Center's bins at Lincoln and Wrightwood. He wrote this uplifting and encouraging post about the carts arrival.

We can't wait for the program to expand to more of the city - after living for years with fully functioning recycling programs in California, we really missed having a blue bin (or cart) of our own upon moving to Chicago in 2000.
Thoughts on or experiences with the new program? Anyone else have a new blue cart to celebrate?
