We've had the same yoga mats for years and years, and they've seen better days. So recently we've been considering retiring them and purchasing some new ones. However, we weren't sure what to do. They don't seem recyclable and the material looks like it would sit in the landfill for eternity. We were happy to find a yoga mat recycling resource...
Tiny Choices put a post up just last week about recycling/reusing yoga mats. It's full of great suggestions.

mine isn't done yet, but when it's worn out I think I'll cut it up and place it under small rugs (like the mat by my front door or by the kitchen sink) as rug pads to keep them from slipping around. and next time I'll definitely buy an eco-friendly mat!
