It's fun to empty them, but what about reuse? There are lots of ways to reuse wine bottles: they're strong enough for multiple use, easy to clean, and their shape is pleasing. So, we've pulled together a few ways to give your used wine bottles a second life after the jump:

You can also give them your favourite wine-making friend, in exchange for a full bottle. ;-)

When we were fresh out of college and poor, my roommate and I used the empty bottles as taper candle holders.

do any of you know where to get one or all of the following three items:
1. a pour spout that fits the wine bottle so it can be used for olive oil
2. whatever it is that they use for the bottle opening that is shown in the bird feeder photo
3. a toggle top (like on a canister, but smaller) so the bottle can be used to store/serve water
this article had lots of good ideas, but the follow through is leaving me puzzled!

Instructions on how to turn your used wine bottles into drinking glasses, which I found via Treehugger:
http://www.instructables.com/id/Drinking-Glasses-from-Wine-Bottles/
1) I believe you can get a pour spout from kitchen supply stores (Crate and Barrel would be one less affordable option), maybe even the grocery store, in whatever aisle the kitchen utensils are sold.
2) It looks like a cork in the opening of the hummingbird feeder, and a tube like the flex tubes that come with some reusable water bottles. Might be something the person rigged together from used parts.
3) As for toggle tops, I'm not really sure. It seems there's such variation in the size and depth of openings, I've never looked for a place that sold just toggle tops. I would think if there's any place that sells them, it would be a kitchen supply store, maybe a specialty one that sells to restaurants, if there are any where you live.

FYI, answered my own question about the hummingbird feeder.. http://www.humming-birds.com/parts.html
it was probably a replacement part for a standard feeder.
