This morning while enjoying our morning tub routine and a new issue of Natural Home, we noticed an advertisement for these handcrafted polypropylene rugs made from recycled plastic bottles and woven together by Thai artisans for fair trade wages. We can't believe the intricate designs are made of plastic.

The price seems ridiculously low, available for $28 for a 4'L x 6'W size and $89 for a larger 6'L x 9'W version. This might be the perfect solution for my neighbor looking for a rug that's compatible with her two dog's propensity to urinate on any rug/carpet she lays down, especially with such a nice price.

they've also been selling these under the name of "mad mats" at sweepdreams.com. they've had them for a while, but as i've been watching them, the prices have been going up. i've been wanting one for ages, but i've been waiting to see one in a store so i can get a close up look.
