That's not a lot of money for a good rug. The question is whether its a good rug.

The thing I fear the most is the awful smell of latex/rubber.

It is a little pricey, plus how easy would this be to clean? Do you take it outside and hose it down?

For that price you could have a really nice wool rug, which is better for your home environment and much more pleasing to bare feet. And who wants to smell stinky rubber? Why don't they just recycle the tubes into more tubes?!
