We were intrigued by the recycled silk sari rug we spotted on the CB2 website. So we stopped by the new CB2 store in San Francisco to see what would it look like up close. Photos after the jump...

Pretty good, although a lot of loose threads gives it a rougher look than, say, a cotton rag rug.
We'd call CB2's Sari Rug and Sari Runner preconsumer recycling—chances are the sari scraps were being made into something else before CB2 decided to market this rug. Plus, this green rug requires not-so-green dry cleaning. But still, we're liking the super-vibrant colors.
A runner is $119; a 5' x 8' rug is a reasonable $229. Add shipping if your town or burg is CB2-less.
I have knit several scarves and and bags out of recycled sari silk yarn and I love it! It sheds a bit at first, but it is super durable and the colors are to die for. Here's one site where I have bought from: http://www.recycledsilk.com/patterns.html
