Green Scavenger: Expand-o-matic sideboard-table for $350 on eBay

We couldn't believe what comes out of this chest of drawers: a full sized dining table. It's listed on eBay with a buy it now price of $349.99.

It looks to be in pretty good shape, and the price is reasonable, though if you're not around West Bloomfield, Michigan, you'll have to pay to arrange shipping.

We'd love to see more ideas like this -- small pieces of furniture that add flexibility to the space you have. In fact, we're pretty sure that we have seen a pull-out bed that operates on the same principle, but we can't find the link.Check out the eBay listing for many more photos, and let us know if you've seen one of these in action... or if you become its proud owner.

My fiance and I both had the day off today and decided to hit the thrift stores, consignment shops and a couple of really cool new stuff shops. We found a 1920 secretary in mahogany for $550 when every other store was selling them for over $1000. If we had the room for it I would totally have bought it since I've always wanted one. We also found a mint condition cradle from the late 1800's but since we don't have kids. Either way you would be amazed at what you can find at the little out of the way shops.
