Nightwood: Reincarnated Furniture

We first noticed Nightwood at the Brooklyn Flea's Fall Furniture Festival back in the fall. Now as we set about to redo our living room, we remembered Myriah Scruggs and Nadia Yaron pitch perfect take on the modern rustic aesthetic we're going for, or what we like to refer to as modern woodland...

...and which Nightwood refers to a reincarnated. Like three-dimensional patchwork quilts, Nightwood's pieces are collages of reclaimed wood and fabric, where a seemingly unrestrained hodgepodge of color and texture is transformed into something that is greater than the sum of its parts. Couches, chairs, credenzas, desks, tables, and shelving all share this same aesthetic, yet each piece is unique and compelling.

Better home made junk using reclaimed materials, than factory made mass produced junk.

Of course, as the saying goes, "one man's junk, another man's treasure."
