It's true, I'm a sucker for anything made from recycled bike parts, sometimes regardless aesthetics. The furniture from Bike Furniture Design however is truly eye catching, functional and recycled.
It's true, I'm a sucker for anything made from recycled bike parts, sometimes regardless aesthetics. The furniture from Bike Furniture Design however is truly eye catching, functional and recycled.
Bike Furniture Design is a design and manufacturing studio specializing in contemporary, modern furniture made primarily from recycled bicycle rims, handlebars, and frames, since 1990.
BFD headquarters is located in Michigan, on the shores of Lake Superior. Founded by Andy Gregg whom created the first Bike Chair, the company has since expanded the line to include everything from tables, bar stools, loveseats and more chairs.

In addition to bike parts, some designs use train and automobile windows for tabletops, and surplus automotive seat-belt webbing for seating upholstery.

While the prices aren't cheap, they are very reasonable for something that is both a piece of art and a functional piece of furniture. They also take donated bike parts and include them in their works!

That is all kinds of awesome! I want!

I can't stand bicycle scrap furniture/art. It's abrasive. I love and advocate bicycling, and the way I do so is by riding my bike every day. It belongs outside.

I have to say - that's pretty cool. Don't know if it's practical, but it looks cool. Tabitha @ http://www.fromsingletomarried.com
