Amazon Green: What's Your Green 3?

9-23-2008green3.jpg

It's really no surprise that Amazon.com now has it's very own "Green" section. (We're only surprised that it's taken them this long!) It's convenient to have all of Amazon's green products under one banner, but not earth shattering. What's more interesting to us is Amazon Green's consumer poll, "Your Green 3."

Your Green 3 is a pretty interesting little survey. Here's the gist: green consumers log into Amazon Green, then they search through Amazon.com's huge selection of products and rank their top 3 green items.

The most popular results get listed at the top of the page -- right now, those spots fall to tote bags, CFLs, and a push reel mower. (And the Kindle, somehow shows up at No. 10)

If you had to pick your top 3 green items (items you would encourage everyone you know to own) what would they be?

We're leaning towards smart power strips, CFLs, and weatherstripping (it's only September and our apartment is already feeling drafty).

Biodegradable garbage bags! They are cheap, often a snazzy green color, and can make such a difference in our landfills by promoting waste decomposition .

Dr. Bronner's castile soap...! I use it for hand soap, dish soap, surface cleaner, and shampoo. Each has a slightly different formulation of soap, water, food coloring, and essential oil.
