Yesterday, General Motors announced it will close four plants that build fuel-guzzling SUVS, citing "long-term changes in consumer preferences." GM may even sell off the Hummer brand. That means that high gas prices really have changed the way people are buying... at least when it comes to personal transportation.
If things have shifted so quickly for GM, we're wondering how they've changed life at home.

We've turned the thermostat down or up.
- We don't control the thermostat, so can't do anything there.
We're shopping for deals on groceries.
- We do pretty good on this one already, and make sure to eat in as much as possible, including taking lunch to work.
We've let go of cable TV.
- Never had it.
We share an internet connection with our neighbors.
- Well, we do... but they might not know that.
We've postponed a home improvement project.
- How about all of them?

I've been living well within my means since before the "foreclosure crisis" and $4 gas, so I haven't had to make any changes.
