It's July and we're dreaming of lakes, and beaches, and lounge chairs, and frosty drinks. We've got travel on the brain! But we're trying to keep our footprint light. So we're curious about what you might be doing to keep your travel green this summer.

I need to go visit my grandparents in San Diego later this month. There's not much I can do to lessen the footprint of the trip, but I bought a relatively eco-friendly swimsuit, and am bringing my trusty reusable bottle and a tote bag for shopping / walking around. I also plan on taking the bus around San Diego -- they have a $5 all-day pass.
Also, I'm vegan, so I plan on hitting up all the earth-friendly vegan eateries I can find!

I took a trip to Portland via a hybrid Lexus (I know, not the greatest mode), and relied completely on light rail for getting around. That was awesome.
I'm glad no one said carbon offsets. That's such a scam.

I'm taking a trip to Clearwater Beach shortly. I plan to bring all my own eco friendly toiletries as to not use any "hotel" nasty ones. We rented a small fuel efficient car for the times we need to drive, but we plan on taking the local trolley or walking as much as we can. We're also taking a shuttle to and from the airport in Chicago.
