On average, we have 4 things plugged into electrical outlets in our bedroom. One TV, two lamps, and one alarm clock. We'd never thought of this as a problem before ... but, according to the World Health Organization, low-level electromagnetic fields are produced wherever a wire is plugged into an outlet. And, there is some concern that long-term low level exposure constitutes a health hazard. (But there is no scientific proof!) So just out of curiosity ...

We use a battery alarm clock to avoid the emfs. We also have our bed far away from the place in the house where the electrical wires come in from the street. That is supposed to be a hotspot. It's also good to stay well away from the microwave when it's on, and avoid the backs of computer screens. The farther away from emfs you are the better.

i thought the whole EMF thing was just a bunch of old wives tales. But since i'm in front of a computer for about 12 hours a day and around wires constantly (i can feel one with my toe right now) so i guess i'll be one of the first to know.

same boat as fuel.shy. Would change to battery alarm clock, but waiting for electric one to die first. but methinks that'll be a very long time.

I did a science report on this in 7th grade. However, I have my wireless connection set up in the bedroom, so I've got my modem, voip thing, phone, printer, wireless router, alarm clock, and 3 lamps not counting the overhead. So, yeah, I'm wired..but honestly, I don't know how I'd avoid them. If it's not one thing, it's another. Air pollution, EMFs, water pollution, pesticides...
