This is a fun cartoon that comes from Japan for Sustainability. According to their thinking, the three Rs can actually be ranked in order of importance. And Reduce takes the gold. Do you agree? Which of the Rs is given the highest priority in your home?
We're sure you already voted for your presidential pick, so now take a calm, soothing breath (feel the anxiety of the day slipping away) and cast a decidedly less important vote after the jump.

If that fourth choice hadn't been there, I would have said "recycle" because if you first reduce your consumption and then learn to re-use what you bring into the house, the need for recycling is diminished.

Re-use is the most fun for me,
but I think Reduce is the most important of all
(less consumption -->> fewer resources used, less habitat destroyed to make new stuff).
I think it's the place to start, & it drives other aspects.
To transport myself to work, I can reduce oil consumption by using a bike. If I don't have a bike, I can re-use by purchasing a pre-owned one (& thus reducing consumption of raw materials used to produce & distribute a new product).
