Eating locally and seasonally just got easier with the new iPhone App, Locavore. This app uses GPS technology to detect your location and then displays a list of fruits and vegetables that are locally in season and available.

The Locavore App gathers information from a variety of sources, such as LocalHarvest.org, the Natural Resources Defense Council to give users a real-time look at what’s available to them and where to get it. Not only does the Locavore App tell you what produce is currently in season, It also lists what will soon be available in your region and it also locates nearby Farmers Markets. Taking the concept one step further, there are also links to Epicurious and Wikipedia to connect users to recipes using their local food.
We’re really loving all these creative and simple iPhone Apps such as Power Monitoring and GoodGuide that are helping make our lives a little bit simpler and greener.
I'm downloading this one. Thanks!

I wish it was free.

It would be awesome if it was free, but it is only $2.99... Not bad considering the price of some other apps.
