Another Silo Home... And This Time It's An Inn

While this isn't the first grain-silo-turned-home we've blogged about (see the Monty-Silo House), it is available to stay in when visiting Texas. One of the many room options at the Gruene Homestead Inn, this 1940's grain silo was purchased and remodeled in 2007 into a one-bedroom, one-bathroom loft...

Located in New Braunfels, Texas, the Gruene Homestead Inn can provide family accommodations in cottages, cabins and guest homes. Every stay comes complete with a Texas-style hot breakfast and free wi-fi.

The Silo has been remodeled both inside and out and is now a unique part of the Gruene Inn. Amenities include a stand up shower, 2 sinks, wet bar, and private porch. According to the owners, the unit has a very upscale feel and is quite a unique lodging experience. The cost to stay? $175 / $210 (High season vs. low season?).

Not too bad. Maybe paint the silo a nice color.
