The thing that really caught our eye was the great looking built-in rear and front racks. After some quick research, we found out they’re made of prized green material – bamboo! According to Civia, the front rack features an integrated U-lock holder, light mount, removable side rails and carry up to 20lbs. The rear rack can accommodate a variety of types of panniers and is compatible with 26-inch wheels. The bike even has built-in bamboo fenders!
In all, the Loring is designed for quick city rides and errands and can carry up to 50lbs of cargo. Models range between $875-$1395.

Calhoun Cycle in Minneapolis carries this bike... and it definitely caught my eye, but it was a bit out of my price range. Speaking of Minnesota-made bikes, have you ever featured Surly's?

Surly bikes are great, but can be just as expensive as this one.

What part of it besides the fenders and racks are bamboo? Looks like the frame is steel not bamboo to me.
