Water Watcher by Elizabeth Rintels

Before you wonder what we're doing sketching our idea of the perfect faucet, let us assure you: This is not our invention, it is something far more impressive.

This is the invention of Elizabeth Rintels, the Grand Prize Winner of the By Kids For Kids Going Green Challenge.

Rintels invention is an attachment that secures to any faucet or showerhead -- it flashes a red light and beeps every time a half gallon of water is used. The purpose? Make us more aware of our water usage so that we'll hopefully use less.

Did we mention that Rintels is 12? We like her thinking and hope she keeps it up!
